ALIVE Named Maryland Heights Chamber of Commerce Charity of the Year

ALIVE Named Maryland Heights Chamber of Commerce Charity of the Year

ALIVE’s Executive Director Maggie Menefee accepts the Charity of the Year award from the Maryland Heights Chamber of Commerce.

ALIVE is honored to be recognized as the Maryland Heights Chamber of Commerce Charity of the Year at the Chamber’s November meeting!

“We are so very grateful to receive this award, but even more so to be part of this involved and supportive Chamber. Many Maryland Heights Chamber of Commerce members have supported ALIVE by volunteering, donating financially or in-kind, or participating in our events. We cannot assist our clients without this type of help, and we appreciate the Chamber’s willingness to support our mission. On behalf of our clients, our staff, and our Board of Directors, THANK YOU to the Chamber!”

Giving kids a BOOst on Halloween

Giving kids a BOOst on Halloween

Chatonia, Shoneka, Katherine, and Joshalynn of ALIVE’s crisis intervention team get into the spirit of Halloween and make sure families in our Nights of Safety emergency shelter have a special celebration.

Thanks to our generous donors and dedicated staff, ALIVE’s first Halloween Drive was a great success! Supporters dropped off candy and gently used costumes at the Maryland Heights Police Department OR donated online to ensure the kids we serve had a fun Halloween celebration.

Members of ALIVE’s crisis intervention team gathered the donations to organize a Trunk or Treat for children in our Nights of Safety emergency shelter program. The families were able to enjoy face painting, pumpkin decorating, Halloween music, pizza, and (of course) a lot of candy! One of the parents even pitched in to help with face painting. Thanks to your donations, these children, who are dealing with family challenges and instability that no child should have to face, were able to dress up in costumes and not feel left out of the Halloween fun. THANK YOU!

ALIVE thanks SSM Health Medical Group OB-GYN for supporting our clients!

ALIVE thanks SSM Health Medical Group OB-GYN for supporting our clients!

In response to an SSM challenge for all departments to do a community service project, the OB-GYN group at DePaul chose to support families impacted by domestic abuse.

“We chose ALIVE because we work with women on a daily basis and have seen the devastating effects abuse can have on families,” said Carol Sohn, RN. “We are happy to have a safe place to refer our patients in times of crisis, and wanted to be able to help in some way.”

The group collected diapers, formula, protein drinks, wipes, and non-perishable food items (soft drinks, soup, snacks) to support families in ALIVE’s Nights of Safety emergency shelter. The SSM OB-GYN team’s generosity and commitment to our community are helping empower Nights of Safety clients to build safe and hopeful futures.

On behalf of ALIVE’s clients, THANK YOU to the SSM Health Medical Group OB-GYN team!
